State Cup

State Cup is a biannual event that happens every May and November. It is the State League finals of all brackets, male or female. At the end of every season, the top seeds and playoff round winners go to Decatur in May or Foley in November. In May, it’s the U15 and below brackets and in November it’s the U19 and below brackets.

State Cup is an invite-only event in which you must perform well and be seen by people who give feedback on your behalf on your performances. The Alabama Soccer Association works with the Alabama State Referee Committee to put this whole event together as professional referees, FIFA referees and others are brought in during breaks to have educational workshops.

State Cup is also one of the great identifier events that allows you to meet the State Referee Committee and be seen by them to possibly be hand-selected to go to Southern Regionals or Southern President’s Cup and represent Alabama on a regional and possibly national level.

Travel pay and hotel pay are included when going to State Cup and it’s also a great way to meet and work with other referees from around the state.
