Women’s Initiative

The Women’s Initiative is a U.S. Soccer program designed to support, develop, and connect women within the refereeing community. Created for women, by women, the initiative provides mentorship, education, networking, and development opportunities while fostering a supportive environment where officials can continue advancing through the referee and referee coach pathways.

Participants have access to monthly virtual meetings featuring current and former FIFA officials, PRO staff, referee coaches, and industry experts, along with in-person development academies held in partnership with organizations such as U.S. Youth Soccer (USYS), MLS NEXT, and Nike.

Through these programs, officials have the opportunity to referee alongside all-female crews, participate in classroom and on-field instruction with U.S. Soccer coaches, network with top officials, and gain valuable experience at premier events including USYS National League events, MLS NEXT Fest, Dallas Cup, and U.S. Women’s National Team matches.
